Welcome to The Academy for the New Humanity

We walk with women who are ready to birth a new life—especially women who have been incarcerated or are coming home—and with the communities that will receive them.

Rooted in restorative justice, spiritual wisdom, and honest history, we help people grow into women of character, accountability, and compassion, and help communities become places of second chances instead of endless punishment.

Why We Exist

Our founder, Kim Murillo (“Great White Owl”), entered this work through a dark night of the soul: family breakdown, elder abuse, and an unlawful arrest during COVID-19 that opened her eyes to how quickly people are turned into “criminals” on the worst day of their lives.

Out of that pain came a calling:

• To honor the Divine Spark in every person—even those our system discards.

• To teach how our country was formed—its promises and its oppression—so we can choose a different future.

• To accompany women through the deep inner work of freedom, what Carl Jung called individuation—the “philosopher’s stone” of becoming who you truly are.

The Academy for the New Humanity is where that calling becomes a path others can walk.

How We Can Walk With You

1–1 Doula Guiding
Sacred, one‑to‑one support for women in deep transition. Like a birth doula, we don’t live your life for you—you do the heavy lifting. We stand beside you as you name what must end, what wants to be born, and how to move toward the woman you’re called to be.

Group Jam Sessions
Small, guided circles where women “work it out” together—sharing stories, listening without shame, and practicing the skills of a civil society: respect, courage, truth‑telling, and grace.

Refuge Plan for Challenging Times
A personal “Refuge Plan” built from your own tools:
Centering/Grounding practices, Scripture and Gospel, 12‑step wisdom, putting on the armor of God, simple rituals, and sacred spaces—from churches to deserts to coffee with like‑minded souls.

Soapbox Sundays (YouTube)
A weekly “digital soapbox” with Kim (72) and Kitanna (26) from two generations, speaking honestly about justice, faith, women’s lives, and what real second chances require—from us and from our communities.

Inside–Outside Restorative Curriculum
An 8–12 session journey for incarcerated and returning women, and for the communities that love them—teaching identity, U.S. history, oppression, restorative justice, and the character needed to live true freedom.
